Mrs. Tina Bennett had the privilege of seeing Faith Baptist Schools open its doors in 1978 and has been teaching here ever since. She is currently working part-time as the coach for both the junior and senior high Bible Quiz teams and as the reading room specialist. Her two sons are both graduates of Faith. Mrs. Lenora Billings, who works primarily with the junior high students, has been on the faculty since 1986 and oversees our students with special needs. Mrs. Patricia Bowen has been serving in the capacity of financial secretary for the school since 2001 when she and her husband moved back to Michigan from Louisiana. Pastor Edd Bowen, who serves as the Youth Pastor of Faith Baptist Church, also teaches Bible at the school. He has been on the faculty since 2001. Pastor Edd graduated from Faith in 1992, and he and his wife have their four children enrolled in the school. Mrs. Eve Caldwell, who teaches art and physical education to both elementary and high school, has been a part of the faculty since 2004. Her husband, Dean, was in the first graduating class of FBS and three of her four sons have already graduated from the school. Mrs. Liz Clarno has been a part of the faculty since 2009. She is a degreed Sign Language interpreter and teaches our high school students to speak with their hands. Two of her three children still attend FBS and it is fascinating to watch Mrs. Clarno communicate with them without ever “saying” a word. Mr. Joe Cobb has been on the faculty of our school since the very beginning, in 1978. In the early days he taught fifth grade before becoming elementary principal. Fourth grade has become famous for western week and baseball week since Mr. Cobb became the teacher. Mr. Cobb’s two daughters are both graduates of Faith Baptist Schools. Mrs. Marsha Cobb came with her husband to Faith just a few weeks after getting married in 1978. She has served as a cheerleading coach and school secretary, but now loves introducing students to good literature as the school librarian. She also manages the campus bookstore. Mrs. Laurie Cole joined the staff of Faith in 2010 to teach weekly music classes to the elementary students. In addition to preparing the elementary for two programs each year, Mrs. Cole has a full schedule of private piano lessons. Mrs. Cole has seven children, four of whom are still in school at Faith. Mr. Michael Cox was hired in 1990 to teach junior high classes. He has taught almost every class during his twenty-two years at Faith. He currently serves as the high school principal and teaches a variety of classes in the junior and senior high. He is married to Sabrina and has one dog, Thor. Mrs. Ann Dunn grew up in Connecticut where she began teaching in 1996. She joined the faculty of Faith in 2011 where she teaches the Pre-Kindergarten class. Mrs. Dunn and her husband currently have a daughter enrolled at Faith, and two very energetic children who are still too young to attend. Pastor Curt Dunn is the Music Pastor at Faith Baptist Church and leads the various music programs of both the church and school. He ministered in Connecticut before moving back home in 2011 to join the staff at Faith. Pastor Curt is a graduate of Faith Baptist Schools, attending from the first grade until he graduated in 1990. Mr. Mike Knakal is also a graduate of Faith Baptist Schools who has returned to teach at his alma mater. Mike teaches in the high school and works hard to make math enjoyable and understandable! He also coaches the varsity soccer team and works with the teen group at Faith Baptist Church. He has been on the staff since 2006 and has one genius-level daughter, Mercy. Mr. Ken Larke is a General Motors retiree who joined the faculty of Faith Baptist in 2001. He teaches a beginning typing/computer class to the junior high and a more advanced computer class to the high school. One of his three daughters graduated from Faith and is a teacher, as well. Mrs. Deanna Lewis began her teaching career on the island of Guam. She taught the Kingergarten and Pre-Kindergarten classes at Faith before settling into the second grade class last year. Mrs. Beth Lovelace is a Michigan girl, born and bred. She grew up in Vassar. She has been a part of the faculty here at Faith since 1986, and for many of those years, has taught third graders just as she does now. Mr. Doug Lowe has been around the ministry at Faith for many years, first as a teenager at the church and currently as a teacher. He has been teaching here at Faith since 1996. Mrs. Jackie Nagengast came to Faith in 1983 to teach third grade. She fell in love with her students and the principal. In addition to teaching, Mrs. Nagengast has also been a cheerleading coach. These days, however, she stays plenty busy teaching twenty-five five-year-olds. The Nagengasts have five children, two of whom are still in high school at FBS. Pastor Larry Nagengast is the administrator of Faith Baptist Schools, and has served here since 1980. He was saved as a teenager and spent the majority of his school years in the public school system. As a result, he has an intense desire to train kids to serve Christ through the means of Christian education. He teaches the senior Bible class, frequently speaks in chapel, and consistently encourages and mentors both current students and graduates alike. Mr. Jim Potter first became acquainted with Faith Baptist Schools while traveling with the Academy of Arts, a drama group that helped produce a school play in one week – the way we still do it. The Potters hired in at Faith in 1985. Mr. Potter teaches high school speech, history, and literature classes. Both of the Potter’s children are graduates of Faith Baptist Schools. Mrs. Vonnie Potter has taught english classes at Faith since 1985. She also teaches a junior high fine arts class, home economics to the senior girls, and oversees the costume and makeup crews for the annual school play. Mrs. Potter loves music. Mrs. Joanne Seal teaches the fifth grade here at Faith Baptist Schools where she has been on faculty since 1997. She loves organizing the yearly elementary field day activities.
